Announcement Welcome .... New Members, Please Read First!

Welcome to MILSURPS.COM, an on-line resource for collectors of military surplus firearms and accessories.

First of all, we'd like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to Greentips and Sparhawk of CGN, without whose gracious assistance in helping this site get started, it would not be possible.

Our on-line Milsurp Knowledge Librariesicon contain detailed reference research and forums, covering various genres of old milsurp collectibles. The material ranges from general non-copyrighted (or copyrighted with written release) historical documentation, to detailed high resolution photo montages of milsurp firearms and accessories. These photo pictorials containing over 15,000 pics are designed to show what original and "all correct" specimens of milsurp models from various countries should look like. The site is intended to give the average milsurp collector a place to go and compare various wood and metal markings through high resolution close-up digital pictures, as well as other relevant details, in regards to a piece that they may be looking at buying, or validating the correctness of one they've perhaps already purchased.

The content is constantly vetted and maintained by an Advisory Panel of current members, all of whom have become recognized as having an extensive and broad milsurp knowledge base of experience, regarding various collectible areas and genres. These members have always been highly supportive and active within our milsurp collector community and they have agreed to assist in maintaining the integrity of the content within our Milsurp Knowledge Libraries.

We hope that this site will become a valuable resource to the general milsurp collector community, helping all of our members to better enjoy their chosen hobby. We are open to suggestions as to how it can be improved, or if you have a specific question that you think would make for a good topic of a permanent article, please direct it to one of the Milsurp Knowledge Library Advisory Panelicon members, whose names are displayed in "green" with the text "Advisory Panelicon Member" appearing directly underneath their name.

Although the Military Surplus Collectors Forums are FREE to everyone interested in these old milsurp firearms, some members have graciously chosen to voluntarily donate a nominal amount of money, to help defray several thousand dollars in annual system bandwidth, server, disk storage and maintenance costs. This special group of members receive additional recognition and access capabilities to MILSURPS.COM, such as a colored "Contributing Member" banner panel under their name, a unique color display of their chosen username, unlimited picture uploads and file storage on the system, ability to delete their own posts, a substantial increase in private message storage to 2,000 PM's, plus other general priority based conveniences. In addition, Contributing Members enjoy value added services such as full access to the resources of our Appraisals, Fakery, Dispute Resolution & Mediation Forum (click here), no limits to classified ad posting in the Quartermaster Stores (click here), plus substantially increased on-line image storage hosting for their personal pictures in the Photo Gallery (click here) area of the MILSURPS.COM server (similar to PhotoBucket).

For more information on How do I become a "Contributing Member" (click here)?

As a Registered Member, you should be aware that we require reasonably active membership. As a result, the membership database may be periodically purged of members who have not logged in within any previous six months.

Posts and replies must be civil and polite. No insults, name calling, or denigration of members in any way is acceptable. Please keep the content of your posts suitable for an all-ages audience. Milsurps.com will hold all posters, be they Admin, Moderator, or member to a high standard of conduct.

Please try to ensure posts are created in the forum that best fits the topic. For example, a question about surplus 7.92x57mm ammunition should go in Ammunition and Reloading for Old Milsurps, as opposed to Milsurps General Discussion Forum.

Posts discussing the on-line sales of private firearms or accessories are not allowed in the Milsurps General Discussion Forum. A venue to discuss these items is available in Appraisals, Fakery, Dispute Resolution & Mediation Forum. Off-site online sales from commercial vendors can be discussed in Commercial Auction and Sale "Gossip".

Members may also discuss their non-milsurp related arms and accessories interests in The Watering Hole OT (Off Topic) Forum

If you have any issues with Milsurps.com, it's staff or members, please address your concerns to Badger (Administrator/Site Owner), Stevo (Senior Moderator), or Claven2 (Moderator) before bringing them out in the forums. It's our responsibility to ensure you have the best possible experience here at Milsurps.com.

Finally, here's a reminder as to the contract all members who register for access to MILSURPS.COM, have agreed in advance to abide by.

What was the agreement I said "YES" to when I joined? (click here)

Feedback about what you like or don't like is always welcome. To do so, please use the Contact Us Option located at the very bottom of each web page, or simply (CLICK HERE).

Thank you for your support and co-operation. We are glad you have chosen to be a part of our community and we hope you enjoy your stay.

    Best Regards,
    The MILSURPS.COM Team
