Possibly the best AR I've owned..
I have an SGW Model XM15 A1 manufactured in 1983. This is without doubt the most accurate, trouble free AR I've ever owned. Apparently these are pretty uncommon, if not particularly rare variants. Anyone else out there owned one? When my d**med Internet gets back up I'll post some pics.

I have a very old Palmetto Arms SGW billet lower
It is from the early 80s. It is CNC made from a block of aluminum. It looks and is very robust. I had an Olympic 1/9 barrel on it for years but my reloads were not always seating well so I went back to the original Colt 1/12 chrome bore barrel it came with. With a RR trigger it shoots very well. With this barrel it feeds everything flawlessly. I just recently put the old Vietnam green triangular grips back on it but still keep the A2 stock because I'm a large one. Looks cool shoots great.

Speaking of Palmetto, I just bought a stripped lower from them for $49.95 on sale. I think Aero Precission makes them for Palmetto. Looks great, nice finish. My project for today is to assemble it into a finished 6x45 (6mm x .223) 20" rifle. I have all the goodies to complete the build so barring any complications it should happen today.
My old select fire M-16 had a SGW lower on it. Never missed a beat...... but I sold it when I needed funds.
