    Federal Primers ???

I have a brick of Fed.No.205 small rifle primers are they safe to use in AR-15 ?
I also have some Fed. GM210M Large Rifle primers should I save these for bolt rifles not M-1 or M1Aicon ?

Are there any problems with Fed. pistol primers as far as cups being to soft for semi auto pistols ?
    Thanks

I use nothing but Federal primers for my semi-auto handguns as wel as my wheel guns. As for the AR and M1Aicon etc.. I use Federal primers with no problems at all... the only rifle I had a problem with was my HK-91.. I had 1 slam fire about 4 yrs ago.. and this was after 20yrs of loading for it and something over 20K rounds through its barrel..... but for the most part, I use CCI rifle primers.

I do not know about the AR but I had two slamfires with 210M primers when single loading a Garand. Never had a slam fire in that rifle with 210 primers.

I wore out 2 M1Aicon barrels with 210M primers without a slam fire but finally decided discretion is the better part of valor and switched to 210.

I suspect 90% of us cannot take advantage of the miniscule improvement in accuracy provided by sensitive and consistent primers.

Federal primers are the most slamfiring primer ever in Garands/M1a's. Federal is proud to tell you that they make the most sensitive primer on the market.

The fact that you had two slamfires with the things, and you learned to stop using them is good.

A slamfire maybe be a once in 50,000 primer event, but you know, people die every day due to one in a million events. It was only a matter of statisitics till you would have had an out of battery slamfire with Federals.

I use Federal primers in my bolt rifles. They are fine bolt gun primers. After having two out of battery slamfires with 210GM primers in Garands, the last one having blown off the back of the receiver, I ain't using them in gas guns ever again.

    Call me cautious.
