Dont know about 2MC but 2MD = 2nd Military District (Eastern Command, New South Wales)

I would second that. Both of my 1915 MK3's have it stamped on the knoxform as well as NSW on the barrel under the top rear handguard. Does your rifle retain it's early finish or has it been refinished to WW2 standards at the factory? Regards, Bob.
