Enfield Sniper Info
Hey guys, I'm new here due to a recent find that I'm looking to buy. An enfield collector's son is selling 12 Enfields, including a single shot rolling block, 22 trainer and what appears to be a sniper variant. What I'm hoping you can tell me is what I should look for to authenticate the Sniper variant. Any markings that should be present or anything else would be great.

Of course, if you are really fortunate, it could be one of these
Milsurps - 1917/1945 No.1 MkIII* H.T. Sniper Rifle (Short Bracket))
Milsurps - 1916/1945 No.1 MkIII* H.T. Sniper Rifle (Medium Bracket))
Then there are the L42A1, Enforcer and Envoy variants of the #4 rifle as well. In fact, there are quite a few possibilities.

And - remember anything that anyone has mounted a scope on immediately becomes a 'sniper' rifle.
Do your research carefully before spending your hard earned cash.
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

...and all before you even consider the WW1 rifles converted/ scoped by the guntrade for the War Dept to 1918.
Probably be easier to gather some info off the rifle and ask some specific questions here.
