Advisory Panel
I had one about 30 years ago and shot it lots before I knew anything about them. Thousands of rounds of Canadian IVI 9mm. No problems. It was suggested though that mine was completed before slave labour so maybe it was a better one. I couldn't say, I have no record of the serial number. I should think if it was going to break, it would have done so in the past 60 odd years.

They might be "safe to shoot" but shooting them is discouraged according to FN Browning Pistols Side-Arms that Shaped World History book because sabotage was common with Wa140-marked HiPowers, primarily deliberately inadequate heat treatment of smaller parts. The parts break prematurely, so while the pistol might not blow up you end up with a broken pistol.
