Need a little help fitting My CMP C stock
Finally getting around to fitting my CMP C stock to my A3. It is definitly fat but the bands all fit. I'm trying to fit the rec. and trigger gaurd and I can't get the screws to catch. I'm warming my dremil up, but before I start making sawdust out of my new stock.... Can anybody give me any tips or pictures of probable high spots to check? The brass sleeve in the back extends down about 1/16", should I leave this alone? Thanks Truman

Truman, I have used a candle and turn it side wasy so it puts soot on the receiver and barrel. Lightly press the receiver into the stock. The soot will remain on the high spots. Slowly remove the wood where the soot is. It takes a while but you will only remove the high spots.

And, put the Dremel away! Use a rat tail file or rasp to remove wood in the hole. The Dremel removes hundredths of an inch when microns are needed!
The sleeve should not extend below the wood. Use a wood dowel to gently tap it up into place.
With the action removed, put the TG in the stock. Looking through the guard screw holes, are the holes centered above the holes in the TG? Leaving the follower & spring aside, add the bbl & receiver. Start the front screw a thread or two. Then start the rear. If the rear won't catch, reverse order; start the rear first, then the front. Then & only then use the rasp to slowly enlarge the holes in the stock. Put the Dremel in the fridge.
