    Question What bayonet is this?

HELP!!!! What bayonet is this? Looks like US 20th century, but bayo slot is just a rectangular groove, hilt looks cast and installed in reverse, and the pommel is larger than a US 20th century bayo. Ive researched on-line at multiple sites and CAN NOT find anything like it.

    Any ideas?

That's a US M1905 bayonet but what appears to be different is it wasn't finished production. This would be one that lay in the factory after production ceased I think and was bought and put together for whomever wanted them.
    Regards, Jim

Jim, upon a second look after reading your reply I think you may be right. I thought the lack of bayo lug socket indicated a different firearm, but I can see your point. Many thanks! Dave
