Question on JA barrels
Was the 2-groove rifling on JA barrels used for the M1917 the same as the 2-groove barrels used on M1903A3's (rifling the same as 4-groove '03 barrels with 2 grooves omitted)?

The Johnson Automatics US 1917 replacement Barrel has two grooves and two lands that are equally spaced. The rate of twist is 1 in 10". My WWII rebuilt 1917 with JA barrel slugs .3078" on the grooves and .300" on the lands, it is one of my best shooting service rifles. This does not quite answer your question but my Remington 1903 A3 two groove barrel internally seems identical to the JA barrel in terms of twist and spacing.
