New Zealand and Lee Enfield Rifles
Im visiting Auckland starting this weekend and wanted to ask the Kiwi members if there was anything in Auckland or North Island such as a military museum that I should see.
I'm attending a work related conference but have a few days spare to do some visits .

There is the Auckland War Memorial Museum which is the Auckland regional museum, Good military displays and generally a excellent museum. The National Army museum Waioru is also well worth a visit, its about four hours south of Auckland.
Perhaps Roger would know if the there is a IMAS or Antique Arms shoot on.
Hope you enjoy your stay

I don't have much on the shooting side, pm me to see if our schedules coincide. I do recommend the aviation part of MOTAT, they have an immaculate lancaster and mosquito, plus its a really great visit overall. As this is is all OT I'll pm about more stuff.

Make sure you go to the Army museum in Waioru. I went there last July. Nice Trials sniper on display as well as plenty of other worthwhile exhibits.
Try to pop in to Gun City. They have an Auckland Branch. I visited their Christchurch super store. the range of military firearms for sale was eye opening for an Aussie not used to seeing Brens, Stens, Stirlings, Lanchesters for sale.

And don't forget, if you go to Waiouru, there they've got the weapons we had at Ngaruawahia plus the SA80 rifle and light support weapon and the SAS G3 that I sent them!
