Looking for 03-A3 Front Sight Blade/Base Dimension Details
I am hoping someone can point me in the direction of detailed specifications/drawings of the 03-A3 front sight blade. Possibly the front sight base also.
I need the specified width, height (A size preferred), pin hole diameter and location. I have measured some blades and just can not get a standard.
I am on a quest to build some that are not prone to bend so easily as the newer commercial ones seem to do. I am also considering building some that are .100 wide. I should say have them built.
I know it has been done, but finding them has been a challenge. Any help or pictures of past success projects would be appreciated.

Try Bill Bentz for front sight help. He makes the best USMC sight made today.

If you need a sight blade and pin, you can also try Bill Ricca. He's very nice and he has often had 1903 parts I need and his prices are fair.

Doug, I sent a PM.
Harlan, Thanks. I have bought from Bill before and do like his service and prices. I am on the quest to get wider blades and also the USMC type 03-A3 front sight hood. I had forgot about Bentz, but have already contacted him and sent my payment.
I do need to stock up on some sight and base pins though.

Hi Bruce. I understand better now.
Though I don't particularly like eBay, I've found some 1903 parts for sale there at any given time.

Good luck! I can see by your dedication and knowledge you'll find what you are looking for. Hold out for what you really want.

I think both Ricca and Bentz have pins for sale. They are a major pain to make and buying 2-3 makes real sense.
