A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. It was a Gewehr 98 made in 1906, somewhat of an uncommon bird simply for the date but looks to have been converted and all but the action tossed away. Judging by the way the caliber is written, 30 govt 06, I would have to suppose that it was sporterized a long time ago, but that's just a guess. The bolt has been modified as well, with the handle swept back and bent. In terms of value, it's not worth much to a collector but it's got its own value to you since it is an heirloom.
