Colt .38 DA Revolver Question
I have a .38 DA US Army revolver holster that looks much more black than brown and is marked on the front flap indicating it was made prior to 1904 when the markings were moved to the back. I also know the color was changed from black to brown in 1902. The markings on the front flap are faint but very much look like "Rock Island Arsenal E.H.S." without any date. I seem to recall that these holsters were not dated early on- is this correct and if so when did they start dating them? THANKS

I believe the markings were moved to the back in 1903 as well as starting the change from black to brown/russet color and dating the holsters.
