Remington M513T Rifle / REDFIELD 75 SIGHTS
Pictures of my Redfield 75 sight on my M513T July 1943 Rifle.
Now I need to try and find a original front blade sight, & Mag's to make the rifle as it was made by Remington in 1943.
I would like to try and find a Globe Redfield 63 to fit on my front sight block ( I don't know what kind of sight block that I now have ) there is no dove tail cut in the barrel just 2 screws that's in the block ( hard to tell from the parts picture if they made a 63,65,or 68 globe also )
The eye piece on the sight seems that you can move it a little in the adjustment channel I don't know if that will change the sight picture or not when you fire. Could that be just from a lot of use.
Last guestion is that from the butt plate to the grip is about 11 1/2" that seems a little short but does not look like stock has been cut off & another butt plate put on.
Thanks
Dick

Is this a rifle that was for sale from the CMP recently? I know they got a batch in and some were identified as having a shorter LOP for youths (or yutes ). You may find out more about them on the CMP site. Also they just recently acquired a batch of sights for milsurp .22 trainers. If you have purchased a .22 rifle from them in the past you qualify to buy a sight that they now have for them. If not, then they will open them up for sale after a month. Hurry, they are not expected to last long in stock.

Yes I got this rifle from CMP and also got a redfield 75 sights in the first round . I don't know if I will try again or not as I have bought a lot in 2011 and need to save for a 38cal hand gun for the wife.
Thanks
Dick

If you are still looking for the original 513T military style front sight. You might try Numrich's site, Numrich Gun Parts Corporation
. I am building a 513T and have gotten a lot of parts from them. I have also seen quit a few misc parts listed on Gunbroker and Ebay, including original front sights and Redfield sights and parts.
Oh, Brownells has magazines too.
Hope this helps and good luck - happy shooting!

Dear Dick, This 513T may have indeed come with the simple blade front sight - and not the globe - as many of them did. As has been mentioned, there are various places one might find original magazines - GunBroker, eBay, etc. Whatever you do, get out there and shoot this puppy as the real thrill is in seeing how they shoot. If you're a youngish guy, you can really develop your aperture sight skills and if you're an older guy, I'd highly recommend considering a Ken Vianni scope mount (ken1855@hotmail.com) along with a decent scope. This mount attaches using existing tapped holes on the back of the barrel (designed for older externally manipulated sights - such as Unertl and Feckler) and the tapped holes for the Redfield 75 attachment) and so can be mounted and removed without additional tapping. Check out Rimfire Shooting and Rimfire Central sites as well for more discussion on the 513T. Great rifle!

My '49 513T has a dovetail cut in the barrel but the other 43-44 and 50's vintage have the 2 screw blade front sight. The undated NOS barrels I have are all 2 screw also.
The "matchmaker' logo is different on the '49 also, more spread out than the 2 screw front sight versions.
So when was the dovetail used?
Numrich has the 2 screw blades in stock and I heard a rumor that Brownells has a 2 screw mount with a dovetail cut in it but haven't been able to find it.
Redfield made plates commercially and for the military (I have both) that allowed the mounting of an olympic-international-Mark 8 rear also.
Have fun, these are great little rifles!
