Need help identifying M1922 M1/M2 scope mount

This came off a Springfield Model 1922 M1icon. It was mounted in the cutoff. Any ideas exactly what it is, who made it and how it was used? TIA

It is for a receiver sight. My best guess would be for a Mables-Goss target peep sight.
