Ethan,

Thats actually my dads rifle he got when he was 16..a (25.35.) 1894 winchester made in 1909. The wood (as you can see) has been sanded, but that was long ago, and the saddle loop was removed by my grandpa (so it woudnt rattle when they went hunting) needless to say it was lost. but still a very nice rifle. ammos just so darn expensive.

Hi Ethan,
Nice rifle the 1894. Yes this ammo is very expensive here too. A gun club comrade sold his one for this reason.

How much milling was required for this project? Just a flat surface along the reciever and a groove correct?

No milling. the Base of the mount (which mounts to the side of the receiver wall) fits the profile of the receiver.

So these mounts were designed for the standard kar98k and not for the real LSR reciever rifles?

Did you get the mount off ebay too? Would you provide more details please. I have a RC K98k that I'm thinking of scoping. Your's look great!
