Greetings

I have a Winchester Mod 52C which the previous owner used in competition. Still has the original barrel and appears to be in excellent shape.

I'm using this for outdoor prone and single loading the rounds. The problem is that approx. one or two rounds out of ten the rifle does not cock when I cycle the bolt. When this happens I lift the bolt, lower back into battery, and usually the rifle will fire.

I have tried being very deliberate about cycling the bolt and not "cutting the corners" but that does not seem to help.

Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this malfunction?

Thanks

Jim
