Savage No4 Mk1* Resurection...
So I've got a line on a sporterized Savage No4 Mk1* for under $300. I have a spare stock set at home (birch I think), so assuming that the rifle is in good condition, would I need anything more than the stock bands and associated screws to bring it back to life?

Possibly the front sight protectors has the barrel been shortened if so the bayonet lugs may have been removed so your going to need another barrel

I'm still waiting on more photos so I can't say for sure yet. Hopefully it's not that extensive a chop job.
Assuming it's not, is restocking the rifle something I can do in my garage or am I better off paying to have someone more knowledgeable handle?

Another thing you need is to get the price below $200.
