colt commando
years ago I got this colt commando. The guy I got it from bought it through shotgun news back in 1964 he shot one box of shells through it.Tthen he put it on a shelf in his closet and never touched it until he sold it to me. it came in a kraft box and it is like new the only thing there is no flaming bomb or inspector stamp on it. Could this be one that was completed after the contract ended and never saw service? is it uncommon to find these guns without acceptance stamps?

What is the serial number range? With no Government inspection markings, I'm guessing it's a later gun in the 40k serial number range, which would be correct.

Since these were most often issued to civilian organizations, such as factory or dam guards, I doubt they would have been marked as were say, those used by the Navy. I have attached the instruction sheet for this gun which should be printed on light cardstock of a manila color to be close to original

Mind if I ask a favour......... If anyone has taken up JDM's PDF and is going to produce a close-to-original copy of this, would they mind running off a second copy for me? Will pay post etc by return. Thanks, Peter
