WJ marked recoil plate
I found this type 3 recoil plate in my box of parts and I thought it was unmarked because it is very faint and maybe 1/16th of an inch , i used baby powder to highlight it, I looked in all my books and can't find it, what is it for ? Is it post war ? It's parkerized . Can't seem to upload a pic from my phone so I will post a pic when I get home

Marked WJ on the bottom?
If so
Would be.........
Wadsworth Watch Co. for Jamestown Lounge. The JL stocks.

So that would make this recoil plate belong to an IBM correct ?

I doubt it was Jamestown Lounge. Many make that error with the J markings. The only Jamestown Lounge contract I know of was the sub contract for stocks, nothing else.
Jewel Bros had the J markings. I think it was a wood company that subcontracted metalic items outside.

I pulled my info from some old notes, but I do have a ? mark after the info I received.
First WJ I came across came off a JL-B stock.
Asked about it here, some years back.
My thought at the time was that it may be a WWII replacement that happened upon that JL-B stock.
Long lost member ScottR had replied, the answer I posted above.
Here's that link....
Help to ID a Recoil plate...WJ..
Thx,
Mr. Ricca

How about the PLW marked recoil plates?
When asked by friends I reply Poor Little Whinner.
Might these have been made by Packard for L-W stocks?

That other thread is a common error. The only Jamestown Lounge markings are JL.
Notice the other Jamestown named company. I know they had P17 stocks.
Jamestown Lounge had only one contract with the US Government.
