Thumbs up Welcome to a new forum moderator ...

I'd like to introduce the first one of a few Enfield collectors, who have volunteered to help us out moderating our newly created Lee Enfield Knowledge Library Collectors Forum.

Matt "Jollygreenslugg" Austin is a 37 year-old Aussie with a lifelong military history interest. Having a deep interest in the Lee-Enfield family, he has endeavored to build a representative collection of Empire and Commonwealth service rifles. The central part of this collection, which begins with a Brown Bess, is his .303 collection, the oldest of which is an 1889 Lee-Metford I* and the newest being a 1953 No4 Mk2.

He considers himself very privileged to have been helped by older collectors, and intends to pass this knowledge on as the years go by. He also enjoys making videos of various shooting subjects, which is another way of sharing the knowedge-base of these weapons. He is very keen to expand his activity here at the Milsurps Knowledge Library, and is always willing to help where he can. A railway workshop manager by day, he is a military-history fan and family man by night.

Many of you already know Matt through his excellent video series about the Lee Enfield Riflesicon. If you haven't viewed them as yet, you'll find them in our on-line Screening Room(click here) and his own personal collection appears in our Members Showcase (click here).

So, please join me in welcoming Jollygreenslugg to the moderating team of our Lee Enfield Knowledge Library Collectors Forum.

    Regards,
    Badger (Doug)

Jollygreenslugg two words for you: "Congratulations mate!" and even if alcool + firearms don't go together : Cheers!

EDIT: Is there a way to download the videos so I could keep them on a DVD for my own personal library? (You never know too much.)

Thanks folks, it's good to be here!

I haven't picked up any Lee-Enfields since the start of the year, as changing work and family commitments have made me take a little break, but I'll be back into it soon.

I'm thinking of doing a No4 disassembly vid next. Any requests?

    Cheers,
    Matt
