Ross Rifle Bayonet Serial number DA 317

Picked this up at the gunshow in Waverley on the weekend.

This is the first of the actually serialized Ross Bayonets that I've ever seen.

I own rifle # DA 181....if you have my Bayonet (I'm aware that it was sold in western Canadaicon a couple of years ago) I'd be pleased to trade with you!!!

Your bayonet was among the group assigned to the HMS Canadaicon and the ship was later transferred to the Chileanicon Navy. A google might be in ordfer for more details.

There is a serial number survey for these over on Welcome to Ross Rifle
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

    Edward Bernays, 1928

Much changes, much remains the same.
