The serial number and accompanying "BO" mark look like Indian markings. I have a 2A1 rifle that is serialed on the mag in nearly the same font.
I agree that it's a MkIII mag modd'ed to fit a No.4.

In 1941 a contract was issued to modify 100,000 No. 1 magazines for the No. 4.They are not uncommon to find.

I have one of the converted SMLE mags as my back up No4 magazine in my range bag.
