Canadian 2"mortar cleaning brushes.

I have just bought a 1945 dated Canadian 2"mortar cleaning pouch but noticed that the British folding brush rods may be different to the Canadian brush rods in the way they fit in the pouch. The Canadian pouch has two long pouches sections in the kit but no room for part of the handle that has the folding link to fit. The British has a single open pouch section. Are the rods different to each other.

Well I have just found out that there are two versions. It looks like the two piece handle is a later version know as the Mk2. Not sure the story behind is why these rods were separated over the linked one piece set, I thought the one piece set would be better so they didn't get lost.
