I have a 1943 No4 Mk1 (T) SN: AF9814. Looking for the scope, serial number unknow, but hopefully the rifle's serial number is stamped on the mount.

Looking For No. 32 Scope Serial 9992
Recently acquired 1944 BSA No. 4 Mk. I (T) s/n 38168 that came with a non-matching but excellent Mk. 2/1 scope. The matching scope is #9992, which should be a Mk. 1 variant.
Can you help me find this matching scope?
Thanks much!

If I was you, originality or not, I'd keep the Mk2/1 telescope. They were said to be the best and certainly the most expensive scopes. Only replaced by the Mk3 because it was cheaper. What is the number of the Mk2/1

Forgot to check this forum, so sorry about the delayed response.
My Mk. 2/1 is serial #21 and engraved O.S. 1650A., with no O.S. 1400GA. marking.
Agree and will keep it, but it would be nice to also get the matching scope, which I understand is a Houghton-Butcher Mk. 1, which I further understand is a PITA to adjust and requires that silly little tool.
Much appreciate your advice!!
BTW, I was able to get one of the last copies of your Telescope Sighting No. 32 book from Brian. Very useful info and glad to have it.
