M1C opinions

Anybody have any comments on this rifle? I have requested a few more pics but have nor received them yet. The rifle sn was verified by David McLain,

guys chime in. Where is the DCM or CMP letter? None even mentioned in his ad. Rather let some1 with more expertise than me in M1C's pronounce this 1 real or not.Hairs on the back of my neck raising,on the description of the mount, and the cartouche. no where does it say it is a G&H mount, just correctly machined, is this a case of legal doublespeak, with no recourse to buyer?

Lemme ask a dumb question:

Why would an M1C receiver need a CMP letter?

over the years as "M1C" receivers, I'd really like Scott Duff or one of the guys to take a hard look @ this before I spent that kinda money for it.The money I would spend for a "restored/built M1C" would be considerably less than for one of the originals. The wording in his ad makes me uneasy. It's almost like it was worded by an attorney to say & not say the mount is an original G&H@ the same time.

Maybe I'm overcautious, but not with my money.

Way too few pictures and too sparse a description for a big ticket item.

The buttstock seems to be in question. I for one would like to know why the cheekpad is detached? Was it ever installed?

May 3. 1932 is the Griffin & Howe INC patent date. Do you have anything for 3453528 or 3453523?
