Modifying a Cno7 transit chest into a faux No 15 sniper chest

Can someone explain in what way a No 15 sniper chest differs from a Cno7 chest? Somebody on here will have both...

If someone added a 2 inch row of wood around the bottom sides, would that be the only difference?
Is the internal layout different? Does the rifle cradle go further down in?
I know the handles are leather vs the web on the Cno7 boxes...

Anyone have a stencil of the correct No 15 printing and info on what grade/colour of green paint to paint a box with?

The likelihood of getting the right box these days is pretty low without real deep pockets...

Someone on ebay was recently selling such a modded chest...better than nothing I say.

There's a dozen or more detailed (inside and outside) pics of the Canadianicon No.4(T) Long Branch chest in the MKLicon.

1945 Enfield No.4 Mk1*(T) Long Branch Sniper Rifle (click here)

From the entry, go to the 160 picture photo montage and compare the chest pics against your C. No.7 chest and I think you'll have all you answers.

Personally, I don't think it's worth trying to convert.

    Regards,
    Badger

Thanks Badger, I'll have a look.
It's not to fool anyone, just to have a replica without spending the Mint on it. See Collectors Source T rifle- it has one just like it.

Just buy the next mixed numbers T rifle that comes with the chest, cherry pick the stuff you need, and sell off the rest. The way the prices are these days, you could well make money on a $2300 sniper once divided up.

Of course, a true addict will want to keep it all.

I picked up a repro transit chest at the large Calgary gun show two years ago for $30 so they are out there.

If you are going to do it yourself here is some reference material.
