    Question Magazine Patchett 9mm 34rds

Wondering if anyone can tell me who manufactured Sterling magazines marked "MAGAZINE PATCHETT 9MM 34RDS"?

    Thank you.

Those 'curly-back' magazines are for the Sterling sub machine gun and were made by the actual Sterling Engineering Co, the makers of that famous Rolls Royce of sub machine guns. The magazines are probably the closest thing to perfection that youy can get

For the UKicon Military version of the gun, there were several other manufacturers including ROF Fazakerley, The Rolls Razor Co and Metoy Ltd. And guess what..................they were all more expensive than the Sterling magazines.

There is a really fantastic book out about these little guns called The Guns of Dagenham published by Collector Grade.

Thank you for the reply, Mr. Laidlericon.

I have ‘The Guns of Dagenham’ and ‘The Sten Machine Carbine.’ Both are excellent. ‘The Guns of Dagenham’, or “GoD book” as we call it, is the ‘Bible’ for Sterling owners. Aside from that, it’s written with style. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I am guessing these are early commercial magazines? They are blued, not painted.

Here’s a picture of my Rolls Royce.

The UKicon MoD magazines, marked L1A1 were phosphated and painted but the commercials were probably blued. The Sterling magazines were as close to magazine perfection as it's possible to get in my opinion and the machanics of the magazine deserve a book in their own right.

Thanks also for your kind comments
