Chiming in very late here. Haven't been around in a long while and just read about this in the GCAicon journal. All my condolences to those he left behind. Another of the greatest generation moves on. I always considered this place HIS.

I knew John R very well. Sad to see another acquaintance go...he had many stories to tell and even if one couldn't quite sort them out, there was a kinship there. He had a VERY colorful life...you have no idea if you didn't know.
    Regards, Jim

Guisan from the Swiss Rifle Boards passed away.

I'm not sure when but it's been fairly recently. There is a memorial to him on the Swissicon pages.

I don't go there often but have interacted with him in the past and he seemed to always know what he was talking about. Lot of knowledge lost with is passing. He has left a lot behind also.

He has been gone for at least a couple months at this point. Truly a shame, he provided much of the information on Swissicon Rifles you can find online. It is also tragic as from my understanding he was only in his fifties, which is way to young to go.

    He will truly be missed.
