RIP Cosine26. I always enjoyed your stories about three separate wars you were in and all the personal experiences you shared. Again you go before us...still. See you soon enough.

I posted a link in another thread to the obituary for member "englishman_ca".
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

I just thought I'd inform the community of the sad news my good friend Chris Lewis passed away recently, cjlewisenfield on this forum. Although he was not a regular poster he certainly was a regular viewer. He unfortunately had an allergic reaction to nut or nut oil in food, despite having no previous allergies and passed suddenly.
Some of you had dealings with Chris over the years and will remember him as large man physically, in character, appetites and in kindness. He was an avid Enfield enthusiast and was a confirmed regular at Bisley with many friends, a genuinely good man in all ways and will be greatly missed indeed.

.... I just found your post and i am quite sad to learn about his passing away...
It does answer some questions i had but i must admit, not in a good way...
englishman_ca was an inspiration with his amazing work and vast knowledge of the early Lee Enfields.
Not to mention his willingness to help in so many ways.
On several occasions he helped me and i'm also an owner of one of his restored RIC
You could say he was a mentor to many of us.
The community lost a huge member and his knowledge will never be replaced.
