    RSG Hand Guard marking ?

Recently seen a RSG Hand Guard marked R.S.G. (with periods)
Has anyone seen any more marked like this?
The ones I have are all marked just RSG

    TIA,
    Charlie-painter777

    Chris,
How can you quote the NL and page so fast. Do you have a trick or have you indexed all the NLs?

    Thank-You, Brian,
I knew it because it is my carbine but I forgot Chris wrote the the COM. I could not memorize even one NL if I kept it in front of me all the time.
I was speaking of knowing the information and the NL number which has that information.
For example, I know some late SG bolts have a bell stamp on the right lug, but knowing which NL has that information, I would not have a clue.

I have one RSG hanguard and it doesn't have the periods. Did the later ones have them, or is there any relationship to when they were made? The references I have are confusing as to the types and variations of early handguards. The Riesch book types are simpler than the those listed in War Baby! but I'm still confused. The one on the left in my pictures has a groove that measures 3/4" wide and has been with an S'G' Carbine I own for at least 55 years. It may not be original, but I think it might be. According to Riesch, it might be correct for a Saginaw gun, but not the Grand Rapids. So, is my hanguard a Type 1 (aka Type A, variation 1)? Also, I'm curious about the other shallow groove hanguard that I have pictured. At first I thought it was stamped "PU" (Pedersen for Underwood) but looking closer at what I thought was a lightly stamped "U" - it looks more like a well formed "J." I can't find a "PJ" listed in my references - could it be a wartime replacement kind of like the "J" marked stocks?
