A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Love the idea of shortening them up. I always thought they would look better that way.

Hmm .... Isn't the bottom one an SKS-D ? Never heard of an M. Never heard of a "paratrooper" variant either mind you (both seem to be missing cleaning rods also). Hope you kept the original handguard/gas tubes ... Overall, very nice shooters you have there.

Rob, the bottom one also shows a replacement stock with recoil pad and high comb. I wouldn't worry about exact models, I think they would be great to take out and warm up.

Rob, there is a M version, typically one of them was the thumb hole stock the other was kinda a Monte carlo style (D vs M), however they both have a AK style release and AK style mags. The paratrooper model is also fairly well known here in the US and when they are numbers matching rifles the price is about 100 dollars more than the standard chinese sks.

    M I B,
Nice collection. Of all the rifles i have and collect, two of the things i collect the most is the SKS and old mossberg .22's.
