Brophy's big 03' book has a section on foreign marks, applied by friendly governments. I don't have mine handy - anyone else? I seem to remember the Thais had something similar. CC

Thanks, It is a Thailand post WWII stamp I am told and I thought it was similar to Siamese mauser stamps...Likely a US GI souvenir from Vietnam War..it has a stock with CKS inspector stamp which is one I haven't seen. Ed

Ed is corrrect. I have an A4 with a very similar mark on the Receiver ring, a larger version on the side of the buttstock and a Thai Rack number on the bottom edge of the buttstock>

Some M1903s with Siamese marks, along with many other types accumulated by the Thai military, were imported in the mid-late 1960s by Interarms. That is the most likely origin of this particular rifle.
