    My new match rifle

Bought this from Tony at Orion7. I am well pleased with it and hope to see what it will do in it's first match this weekend. It is a Fulton Armory receiver, NM barrel, Fulton bolt, NM sights, HRA and SA GI parts the rest of the way. GI wood as well.

Yes...I'm very curious to see how you like the rifle and how it performs. I am considering buying one from Tony too.

We had a practice today and I took advantage of it and got some good dope on it. 2-300 yards are locked in and there wasn't enough time to get a full dope at 600. It's grouping well. Getting 9's and 10's once I got the site corrections done. I like it alot and am happy so far. I got fortunate today and met a crusty old Marine who has decided to mentor me and I took him up on his offer. He was on the rifle team at the division level years ago shooting the M14icon. I will let you know how things go. I'm fairly new to High Power competition so will definately need his help. As far as Tony goes do not hesitate to get one from him. This rifle is my 4th from him and everything has gone well with all of them.

Well I sucked bad. I know what I need to do to correct and that is more practice. Weather was horrible on Sat. The wind blew to 50mph and we had three target stands rip apart so we had to call the match at only finishing at the short line. Today was better but still windy in the morning only blowing to 20mph. By the time I got to the 600yd line I started to settle down and didn't have one miss. Of course when we got to the pits, I was relay 3, the wind died to 0. Oh well that's shooting here. If you want to learn to shoot in the wind you come to my local range. So I will be busy reloading and preping for the next match next month when the season starts.

I have had mine for 20+ years and I'm always amazed with what it can do. I can do no wrong with mine.

My service rifle for 15 years was the FN and then the last 25 was the Colt off-shoot C7. I owned a number of M14s through time(never a Norinco 305) and they're the sort of rifle that gives aid and comfort to a shooter, no matter how little or much training he has. Having to depend on them for accuracy or reliability would never have been an issue when the chips were down. (or the wind was up)
