Serial# 252098 was originally an 1900 manufacture 89/96 and should have been converted later to 96/11 version. Should have an extra piece of wood add to the pistol grip. If so, was convert to safely fire GP11 ammo.
Serial# 464596 1918 manufacture 1911. Safe with GP11.
If sporterized, make sure the have not been re-chambered at some point. See if GP11 will chamber.
1889s were usually re-chamber to 30-30 for the American market and some 1911 were re-chambered to .308Win

Diopter, thanks for the help!
Yes, the 'sporter' has the pistol grip added on. The workmanship is beyond excellent on that stock. You can obviously see where the wood was blended in, but the grain matches so well.
7.5 chambers in both rifles. I think I want to 'restore' the stock back to original on the older gun. I found a handguard at Liberty Tree. I'm starting a search for a complete stock as well.
I have a pretty large collection of military bolt action and self-loading rifles, and it's so hard to be as knowledgeable as I would like to be about each one. There are just so many intricacies, it's hard to keep them straight at times.
