    Transit Case - Internal pictures

I just picked up a No15 transit case in good condition except the internals have been disassembled and a few parts will need wood glued backed together. Can anyone provide some detailed pictures of the internal parts and how they go back in the chest. Greatly appreciated!

    Hi ..

You might want to try our Google CSE custom search engine located in the top right corner below the words "Advanced Search". It only searches our site using Google techniques and can be quite efficient. For example, in your case, type in the words no 15 transit chest or transit chest or enfield transit chest and see what happens ..

There are dozens of old threads that might be helpful..

There's a dozen or more detailed (inside and outside) pics of the Canadianicon No.4(T) Long Branch chest in the MKLicon.

    Also, check the MKLicon

1945 Enfield No.4 Mk1*(T) Long Branch Sniper Rifle (click here)

From the entry, go to the 160 picture photo montage and compare the chest pics against your chest and I think that will help you as well.

There's even full technical drawings and blueprints for No 15 chests in the MKL as well ....

    Regards,
    Doug

    You're welcome partner ...

There are other search aids available on the site that I'm not sure a lot of people take advantage of.

For example, if you look at the very bottom of any forum listing of threads, you'll see a rectangular box called Tag Cloud. It contains an alphabetically listing of the most common terms used within the subject headings of threads created by members. (see pic)

I noticed the word "transit" in the listing for this forum, so I clicked on it and the system displayed several pages of old threads that contained the word "transit" within the subject heading.

There's some really interesting old content there. It reminded me how important it is for us to back up the content on this site regularly, to protect all this research information for posterity and the use of future collectors, long after we're all gone.

    Hope that helps ...

    Regards,
    Doug
