    Premium for Canadian-marked L.E.s?

I have but a single Lee-Enfield right now, a No. 2 Mk. IV* trainer (N.Z.-marked) but would (of course) like to increase the Lee-Enfield content in the gun safe.

I've enjoyed the "Holy Grail" thread here, but my goals are perhaps a bit more modest. I'm looking to the experts here to tell me how likely I am to find, and what I should expect to pay for:

    1) An early C-broad arrow marked No. 1 Mk. III
    2) A C-broad arrow marked L.B. No. 4

It appears Long Branches are running about $400 right now, but would that get me a Canadianicon-marked one? How about the SMLE?

    Thanks for any information.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. "1) An early C-broad arrow marked No. 1 Mk. III
    2) A C-broad arrow marked L.B. No. 4" --RangeRover

Better chance for a item 1 if you live in Canadaicon.
Item 2; Long Branch rifles went to other places as well as to the Canadian army. None of my Long Branchs are Canadian property marked.

In the US Long Branchs carry a slight premium.

All Longbranches are Canadian marked by virtue of being made at Longbranch. By the time LB No.4's were made, the Canadian army didn;t use the C-arrow stamp as much, though you will still find it as an inspection proof on many of the small parts on a Longbranch.

C-arrow No.1MkIII*'s carry a significant premium over non-canadian marked examples here in Canadaicon. Outside Canada, they are just another SMLE.

I have a 43 Long Branch with a C broad arrow stamped on the left side of the receiver just in front of the handguard.

It cost as much as any other similar LB I've seen.

I have a '43 LB with the C^ on the receiver ring---coincidentally, it's also a five groove barrel, so a doubleplusgood piece.
    Would I pay a premium?
There should be a premium, given the scarcity of such marks, but I wouldn't pay it.
