I have bayonet DA 265. Bayonet was not reground to a sharp point as was typically done for those used in Franceicon. Scabbard was modified by the Britishicon with a P1888 mouth and the leather stained black. Bayonet is dated 12/14. Scabbard is dated 1909.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. We need to consider that the DA markings were put onto the rifles and bayonets by the Chileans when they were received with HMS Canadaicon in 1920. Whether this was the complete stock with which she had been issued in 1916, I doubt that we shall ever know. If so, surviving DA numbers suggest that the original issue was somewhat in excess of 400.
