Hey y'all!
In my collection of odds and ends, I have an M2 cone flash hider that I don't "need" and am wanting to sell to raise a few extra bucks for Christmas. I actually posted it for sale on a trader board yesterday but, before I sell it, I want to make absolutely sure that I don't misrepresent anything. I've never questioned that it was authentic, based on where I bought it from, but a potential buyer mentioned that good reproductions are out there, and neither of us are expert enough to definitively state that it's authentic. That's why I'm posting this, asking for your help: I'd rather know I have a reproduction than find out I sold a repro as authentic.
The part is in very good condition, but not "fresh off the Chinese assembly line" condition (old dirt and grease on it). I purchased it from the estate of a collector, and everything else I purchased from the estate has proved to be great stuff (he didn't collect junk, from what I can tell).
The markings are clearly stamped: "HIDER FLASH M2" and "THE HART MFG. CO.", along with the diamond-shaped logo to the left.
Please review the attached photos and, if you have a moment, let me know your thoughts. If it's authentic, what would you put the value at?
Thank you very much!
Luke
