What can you tell me about this 1906 Luger?

Hi Guys I just got this nice looking pistol, but I know nothing about it. Can anyone give me some idea? It's a 9mm, in the shown holster with a spare mag that has a wooden base. Looks to have been reblued at some stage.

    Cheers

    Tom

I'm no Luger expert by any road, but what little I know tells me that in all likelihood your pistol may have been refinished at some time since it appears to be blued over the pitting and some of the parts numbers appear to not match.

It's not a 1906 Luger. It is either a 1934 or 1935 manufactured Mauser P.08. I am guessing that the top of the chamber has a K struck on it which would indicate manufacture in 1934. A scarce pistol, but as Paul noted it has been refinished. A lot of early equipment was lost in Russiaicon which may account for the condition and refinish.

Doubt whether it´s a Russianicon re-work, as it hasn´t got the usual XX´ed out Wehrmacht stamps. Mismatched (as has been said). A shooter (if the barrel is ok). Definitely has been re-finished at some time. Is the mag numbered to the weapon? And has the holster got any markings?

When the Russians figured out they could refinish their pile of rusted Germanicon weapons and sell them on the western market they stopped marking out the German firing proof with the swastika. The K date did not have the Eagle/Swastika firing proof, but instead had a droop wing eagle proof.

No reply on whether it is a K on the top of the chamber?
