    Sten Mk3 magazine well question

    Attachment 57828

I wouldn’t have thought this possible, but the copper rivet opened the hole and now the magazine latch binds on it. Is there an Armourers fix for this?

I don't think that there was a by-the-book fix but there will be a make-do-and-mend fix. Just clean off. make good and re-rivet the mag catch retainer, just ignoring the crack as it is in the opposite direction to any force or load that can be applied to it. Touch paint repair. Send back to Armoury!

Thank you, Peter. So it will be done.

    Attachment 57846

It needs a little more work before it goes to the Armoury.

    Attachment 57847

I have the ejector temporarily held in place with a bolt and wing-nut while I repair the ejector.

    Attachment 57849

The tube has a reduced inside diameter to block an original breach block from going in. It will be semi-auto only.
