    Mark II Bolt Disassembly Instructions?

    Hello,
Trying to disassemble the bolt on my Mark II, and can find only the Mark III disassembly instructions. And frankly, the instructions in the Military reprint are too difficult for me to follow! Any clear instructions or videos for the Mark II that anyone knows of?

    Thanks,
    Mike

If you have the 'pin' type cocking piece retainer, the Mk III disassembly procedure is very similar to the MkII. If you have the screw on cocking piece it is a little different. The first picture is from the MkII 1907 Handbook. Pics 2 and 3 show removing the extractor with a small screwdriver, lifting it just enough to clear the bolt head and pulling it forward off the bolt. In pic 4 you can see the threaded part of the firing pin and the flat milled into the side that can be held with the same small screwdriver so the cocking piece may be unscrewed and removed. Pic 5 shows the disassembled cocking piece relative to the firing pin. If you have the pin on type, push the pin out and the cocking piece will pop off. Pics 6 and 7. After removing the bolt from the front of the bolt sleeve, the firing pin spring retainer my be removed with a small adjustable spanner (Crescent wrench) pics 8 and 9. The last picture is both bolts apart. I think re-assembly is a little more tricky but still not too difficult. Regards. Tom
