We had the originals of these drawings at the Small Arms School at Warminster that were ready to be put into the first Military Training pamphlets but some parts of the drawings were already obsolete by the time large scale deployment of the gun was in hand so they were quickly revamped.
Here's a bit of useless info for you in the same vein........ Look carefully at the early war thin paper training pamphlets and along side each line drawing you'll see the initials TH40/41/42. That indicates that the line drawings were by THwaites - as in Warrant Officer James Thwaites of the Small Arms School Corps training staff at Hythe. Sorry if you all knew this stuff already but I often get my wrist slapped for adding these seemingly irrelevant to the question odds and sods
