Hooton & Jones SMLE Range Rifle

Hi , Has any one heard of Hooton & Jones ????

I didn't get much off google and I am having trouble finding info.

It has a 51' Lithgowicon H barrel, Central rear sight and is made by BSA.Obviously it a Range Pattern rifle but I have not seen any with the charger bridge and no provision for safety catch. All the ones I have seen have been done on the MLE or long tom rifles. It also has the No7 stamped on the barrel, bolt and receiver. Any info would be much appreciated. Cheers.

Not till today, but there are references online to them as a maker of mid-level guns. Notice that the markings are hand-engraved, which might well suggest pre-WWI.
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

    Edward Bernays, 1928

Much changes, much remains the same.
