    SVW MB French occpation Mauser.

This one found me recently. A variant of which I was so unfamiluar I had to look it up before I realized what it was. There does not seem to be a great deal of information on these aparently somewhat scarce Mauser rifles. The "fake cleaning rod" seemed so cosmetic I thought it was a "fake cleaning rod" before reading it was a stacking rod.
Also read the sling setup was to accomidate a MAS sling although I have been unable to find a photo of such. Any additional information members could provide would be appreciated.

    P.S.
    Almost forgot the best part.
Every serial number matches and no import markings.

I will try and post more and hopefully better photos this evening. Every number I found matches save the cocking piece. Bolt,Reciever, saftey, butt plate, floor plate, rear sight, barrel bands all match. I was told this was a bring back.

Here is one. Excellent Mauser SVW/MB Code 98K Bolt Action Rifle with Sling

And a small bit of info here. Untitled Document
Best I can determine it is essentially a kreigsmodel with the provision for a Frenchicon sling and the stacking stake faux cleaning rod thingie. Used by West Germanicon border guards and the French in Tuneisa &
Indochina. There are a few photos in my Mauser book along with a short description.
    More photos to come.

Here are three more. If there is a particuar area of interest let me know and I will snap more.
This rifle appears to have been carried some but the bore is very bright with strong lands/grooves so perhaps not shot much.

Years ago I recall my local Sears had a big rack of Frenchicon Mausers. All in nice shape they sold out very fast.

Perhaps if Sears was still selling firearms they would not be on the verge of insolvency. I used to love going there as a kid, tools, guns and diehard batteries. What more could a kid want?
