I recently acquired a VZ.24 rifle. It, for the most part, is in the original Czechicon configuration, but has minor German modifications to it. The rifle came with an unmarked leather sling, but I cannot determine what model rifle the sling is originally for. The brass fitting has corrosion, indicating age, but I don't recognize it. Also, the rear trigger guard screw was replaced with a K98kicon style screw with three cuts for a locking screw instead of the original VZ.24 screw which has four cuts for a locking screw. What is odd it that the screw has a star stamped on it. The stock and handguard were duffle cut, which indicates to me as being a USGI pickup. Does anyone recognize this star on the screw? Is it a subcontractor mark? Also, can anyone identify the sling? Thanks, and info is appreciated.
