Comment: 1928 Springfield M1903 National Match Rifle.

The metalwork is in good condition with the original straw colour still present. The bolt features a headless and polished cocking piece to speed up lock time, which is consistent with a National Match rifle. The bolt body is unpolished and has not been electro-pencilled. The rear sight does not feature the 2800-yard notch which is also consistent with the National Match rifle as the National Match was shot at 1000 yards so the 2800-yard notch was unnecessary. The stock has seen better days and is in fair condition but is the correct ‘S’ type for a 1928 service rifle. The stock features the correct P cartouche. The barrel is not star marked but is in good condition with the rifling rating a 7 or 8 out of 10.
