    I think that it is punched but with perhaps excessive die clearance on the tooling, giving the appearance seen here. The picture that I have posted shows a repro Sten butt plate that definitely is laser cut with the characteristic, tell tale, laser beam witness lines often seen along the edge of laser cut blanks.

    I will continue to straighten any distorted blades that I come across using the method which I have described already in this thread because I have found that it works for me. Others can do as they please.
