Thanks for posting these interesting pictures Luis, love the bamboo tripod!

I did see one in semi relic condition in Vietnam back in the early 1990's.

Would the North Vietnamese most likely have sourced these ZB26's from Russiaicon/Eastern Europe or from some other source?

Russiaicon / Walsaw pact countries and transported via the trans Siberian to China, then over the border into North Vietnam at Lang Son F10.

As fall outs between China and Vietnam kicked in, they started getting increasing deliveries by sea from Russia.

Correct, and Haiphong harbour was off the target list because LBJ was afraid the Russians would kick off the big one if any of their ships took a hit.

I have something ringing in my head that tells me that in 68 or 9, Haiphong was mined alongside the big bombing campaign. A LONG time ago now.........

That's right Peter, in fact the Americans de-mined the approaches to Haiphong in 73 as part of the ceasefire agreement.

Don't forget that the Chinese manufactured ZB26's under license before and during WW2, not to mention the ones that they purchased directly from the Czechs.

I note the dates on the photos as being 1964, so these were almost certainly directly supplied by the Chinese Communists.
