    1917 Colt 1911

I thought the board might be interested in seeing this 1911 that I recently picked up at an estate sale. Records show that it was part of a shipment of 1000 guns to the Philippines on 18 April, 1917.

Would have to guess that one never made it anywhere near the Philippines! Hardly looks like it ever left Connecticut.

    Gorgeous example, congrats.
Anything with a FLGR is fluff, if JMB didn't put it on the 1911 you don't need it.
If you're going to collect be careful not to get drawn to a piece that is not original, make sure it's a very good example and buy the gun not the story.
